Off to the Cottage
For the record, this goes down in history as one of my worst decisions yet. Not because I didnt have a good time, I love spending time with my niece and sister in law. But with two kids, it was just too much for me to handle on my own.
After the farm fun of Saturday, we spent Sunday relaxing before we packed up on Monday and headed out to the cottage to spend some time with Carla and Claira. We arrived at around the same time, unloaded all our stuff (and with two kids, there is a LOT of stuff!) and filled up the newly purchased wading pool for Nate. I thought this would be a particularly genius solution to the difficult we faced with two infants and a toddler. This way, we could keep an eye on Nate, but he could still play in the water.
Boy was I wrong. He did like the pool
..but he still wanted to go down to the water…a LOT.
We had a good day, all in all and everyone certainly slept well that night. But I woke up in the morning and realized I couldnt face an entire day of Nate, Evan and the cottage, so we packed up and headed out after breakfast.
It really was nice to see Claira and visit with Carla, but neither of the moms really got any downtime, with three kids between the two of us. I’m sure this weekend when we go up to meet up with Daddy, it will be better. Gramma is at the cottage and she is a champ for wearing out Nathan.
